Paul M. Hankinson

AIKEN, SC- Mr. Paul McCreary Hankinson, Jr., 86 , beloved husband of Jennie L. Gunter Hankinson, died Friday, February 26, 2010 at Pepper Hill Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 1, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Shellhouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Historic Bethany Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Craig, Brandon Reeves, Daryl Welsh, Lee Rhodes, Marion Eubanks, and Bobby Tara. Honorary pallbearers will be the Aiken Co. Land Surveyors. Paul was a lifelong resident of Aiken and was the son of the late Paul McCreary and Pearl Price Hankinson. He is was a retired electrical and mechanical engineer who worked for EI Dupont, SRP and was a veteran of WWII with the Army Air Corp. He was also the owner and operator of Hankinson Engineering Services and a member of Aiken First Baptist Church. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife Jennie, include two step children, a sister Bessie C. Permenter; Greer, SC, and a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Aiken Heart Association 1003 Hampton Drive Aiken, SC 29803.
