Barbara Hickman Brewer

AIKEN - Mrs. Barbara Hickman Brewer, 77, died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Pepperhill Nursing Center. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM today (Monday) in Aiken Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Dr. Eddie Leopard officiating. Pallbearers will be Wayne Plunkett, Bill Bishop, Houston Brown, Wilbur Yonce, Wallis Bland and Elzie Peals. Mrs. Brewer was born in Middlesboro, KY, a daughter of the late R.C. and Stella Crigger Hickman. She moved to Aiken in 1951. She was an active member of Millbrook church, was a member of the Sunshine Ladies Breakfast Club, and volunteered at Mattie C. Hall for many years. Mrs. Brewer is survived by her beloved husband, Earl J. Brewer; two sons, Michael (Virginia) Brewer, Clarks Hill, SC, Robert Brewer, Aiken; two grandchildren, Kristen and Jason Brewer; a brother, Wayne Hickman, Tucker, GA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a half-brother, Ed Mason. Memorials may be directed to the Millbrook Baptist Church Building Fund, 223 South Aiken Blvd., Aiken, SC 29803.
