AIKEN, SC -- ETHEL LEVERICH FOWLER, 86, widow of George William Fowler, Sr., died Tuesday, April 6, 2010, 3 days shy of her 87th birthday. A native of Union City, OK, Mrs. Fowler was a daughter of the late Oscar Harman and Ina Keen Leverich. She and her husband lived in Saluda, SC from 1959 until his death in 1995, where she was a homemaker and he owned Butler Hill Guernseys. She moved to Aiken 15 years ago and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Fowler (Tom) Smith of North Augusta, a son, George W. (Donna) Fowler, Jr, Aiken, seven grandchildren, Carol Smith, David Smith, Kaye F. Piscitelli, Jami Trowbridge, Michael Cheeks, Ali Powell and Meredith Fowler and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 daughters; Anita Marie and Alicia Kay Fowler, 11 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church in Aiken, with The Rev. Dr. Rodney K. Powell officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 PM in Butler Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Saluda. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, 2nd floor, Bethesda, Maryland 20814 (ccf.org).
