AIKEN, SC -- GOLDA EICHINGER ALLIN, 89, widow of Charles W. Allin, died Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at her residence.
A native of Chester, OH, Golda was a daughter of the late George Edward and Ida Mae Willard Eichinger. She grew up in Pomeroy, OH and had lived in Aiken since 1952. Golda had been a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in New Ellenton since 1953. She was a member of the Aiken County Hospital Auxiliary for 25 years and had volunteered 9000 hours.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlene Collins, Belvedere, SC and Diane A. (Andy) Purvis, Wrens, GA, a son, Charles (Pat) Allin, Aiken, SC, nine grandchildren; Susie Sack, Suzanne Viles, Melissa Mock, Michelle Smith, Diane Allin, Connie Sparks, Greg Allin, Darrin Fox and Sean Fox and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a son-in-law, Jerry Collins, a grandson, Kevin Allin , four sisters and a brother.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Paul United Methodist Church in New Ellenton, with The Rev. Brian Gilmer officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Tommy Brock, Grady Ready, Charles Goodman, Jr., Kevin Lyles, Vernon Osteen and Charles Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Aiken County Hospital Auxiliary.
