Charles Smith Webster

AIKEN - Mr. Charles Smith Webster, 98, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010. Mr. Webster was born in Worcester, MA, a son of the late John T. and Elizabeth Haskins Webster. He attended schools in Newton, MA before graduating from Dartmouth College in 1933, majoring at Amostrok School of Administration and Finance. Mr. Webster spent his entire business career with Nabisco, Inc., serving at various times as controller, vice president before retiring in 1974 as Senior Vice President. He was a member of the Financial Executives Institute, serving as an officer and director of the New York Chapter and later became active in the research foundation of the institute. He graduated from the advanced management program at Harvard Business School in 1950. Memberships included the First Presbyterian Church, Aiken, and Houndslake Country Club, Aiken. A memorial service will be held privately. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara W. Halvorsen, Auburndale, FL; son, Lee G. (Kathleen) Webster, Holland, PA; daughter in law, Pat Webster; grandchildren, Jean Anderson, James Webster, Robert Webster, John Webster, Maria Solis, Mark Halvorsen, Elizabeth Anne Webster, Ellen Catherine Coster, Emily Cowell Webster; great grandchildren, Kayla Anderson, Brittney Anderson, Andrew Webster, Chloe Webster, Emily Webster, Gabrielle Webster, Robin Rice, Joey Solis, Laura Jackson, Carley Halvorsen; great-great grandchild, Charlize Jackson and close friend, Jeanette Simpson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla Cowell Webster, a son, Phillip Cowell Webster, a granddaughter, Marla Halvorsen-Saint Louis.
