Piet Muns

AIKEN, SC -- PIET MUNS, 77, beloved husband of Patricia Ann Barrow Muns, died Thursday, April 29, 2010 at his residence. A native of The Hauge, Holland, Mr. Muns was a son of the late Benjamin and Agatha Smith Muns. He had lived in Aiken for the last 19 years, moving from Plantation, FL after his retirement as a staff member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. He was a member of Christ Way Church in Aiken. He was a former foster parent. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Patricia, include four daughters; Helen Pollard, Sharon Muns Storey, Melissa Muns and Taylor Muns, all of Aiken, eight sons; Howard (Wanda) Nirenberg, Charlotte, NC, Joseph (Lee) Nirenberg, Beech Island, SC, Kenneth (Laura) Nirenberg, Michigan City, IN, Robert Nirenberg, Atlanta, Gerald (Rita) Nirenberg, Oklahoma City, OK, Walter Nirenberg, Atlanta, Nicholas Muns and Theodore Muns, both of Aiken, 18 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren and two brothers, William Muns, Chicago, IL and John Muns, Holland. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. His sons will serve as pallbearers.
