AIKEN – Mr. Otis Michael Kniphfer, 38, after a long struggle with diffuse scleroderma, went home to be with our Savior on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston.
Michael is survived by his wife Dora Bartley Kniphfer; two sons, Parker and Luke Kniphfer, one stepson, Hunter Addy; his parents, Otis and Mary Ann Kniphfer; his mother-in-law, Diane Chewning; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lisa Bartley Hartley and Brent Hartley; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael Bartley and Tonya Powell Bartley; brother-in-law, James Rodgers; three nephews, Curan Hartley, Seth Hartley, Britton Stone; three nieces, Kristen Stone, Claire Bartley, Autumn Rodgers, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Michael was a loving Christian husband and father who was an example of how to live with a generous, loving heart. Michael was dedicated to his family, his friends, and serving the Lord in whatever capacity he could. Michael was a lifelong resident of Aiken, and an employee of Michelin for 13 years. Michael was also a member of Cedar Creek Church.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Tuesday evening at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will be held at Cedar Creek Church, Banks Mill Campus, at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 12. Interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be John Stone, Brent Hartley, Michael Bartley, Swain Keaton, Jesse McGlocklin, Scott Saul, Jay Crouch and Clay Fulmer.
