Enrique "Henry" Moreno Narvaez

AIKEN, SC -- ENRIQUE MORENO "HENRY" NARVAEZ, 58, beloved husband of Cathy Hughes Narvaez, died suddenly Sunday, May 9, 2010 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A native of Alice, TX, Mr. Narvaez was a son of Mayme Moreno Narveaz and the late Armondo Narvaez. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Army, and was a graduate of the Georgia Police Academy. Henry was a former police officer in Macon, GA and Waynesboro, GA, and also a former public safety officer at Augusta State University. He had worked for the last 10 years as a site commander with Sizemore Security, most recently at the Edgefield County Courthouse. Survivors, in addition to his wife Cathy, include his mother Mayme of Alice, TX, a step-daughter, Jennifer (James Elliott) Smith-Elliott, Aiken, a step-son, Matt (Nikki) Smith of Canal Winchester, OH, five grandchildren; Andrea Heath, Sophia Smith, Garrett Smith, Noah Smith and Kaelah Smith, two sisters; Estella Martinez of Alice, TX and Esther Mendoza of Victoria, TX and a brother, Armondo Narvaez of Aguadulce, TX. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 1:00 PM at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home, with The Rev. Kevin Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Talatha Baptist Church Cemetery.
