AIKEN - Helen Ann Pyles Davis, 83, wife of Curtis "Curt" Davis for 63 years, entered into rest May 27, 2010 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Mrs. Davis was born in Charleston, WV, a daughter of the late Don and Grace Lewis Pyles. She had been a resident of Aiken since 1952, had worked for E.I. DuPont in W.V. and taught pre-kindergarten at First Presbyterian Church in Augusta. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Aiken, worked many years as a volunteer and was past president in the Hospital Auxiliary. She served on the committee that was instrumental in getting Aiken Regional Medical Centers built. She was a former member of Highland Park Country Club where she played golf for many years and was an avid Braves fan for many years. In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by three sons, Craig Marley (Mary) Davis, Aiken, Mark Stewart (Cheryl) Davis, Branson, MO, Scott Michael Davis, Aiken, SC; five grandchildren, Amy Davis, Charlotte, NC, Grace and Megan Davis, N. Charleston, SC, Stewart and Rebekah Brown, Myrtle Beach,; sisters, Olive "Ollie" Cunningham, N. Myrtle Beach; brother, Albert (Margaret) Pyle, Goochland, VA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary McNeely, Alice Cole, Ruth Hopta; brothers, Don Pyles, Jr., Fred Pyles A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church. Reverend Dr. David Cozad and Jane Keisler will officiate. Inurnment in the church columbarium will be held privately. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service. The family asked that memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church or the First Presbyterian Church Columbarium, 224 Barnwell Ave. NW, Aiken, SC 29801.
