Zella Elmore Henderson

AIKEN, SC -- ZELLA ELMORE HENDERSON, 88, widow of Edward Henderson, died Friday, June 11, 2010 at Pepperhill Nursing Center. A native of Saltville, VA, Mrs. Henderson was a daughter of the late Jones and Carrie Davidson Elmore. She was a former teachers aid with the Montgomery Co. School System, Gaithersburg, MD and had lived in Aiken for the last 30 years. Survivors include a daughter, Teresa DeBord, Aiken, a son, Robert Henderson, Frederick, MD, four grandchildren; Resa Wade, Lorne DeBord, Robert Henderson, Jr. and Alice Laraia, three great-grandchildren; Kari Wade, Brentni Wade and Jeffrey DeBord, a great-great-granson, Kyler Wade and a brother, John Henry Elmore, Saltville, VA. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Henderson and a sister, Helen Gillenwater. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home with The Rev. Dr. Chris Masters officiating. Interment will take place Monday at 4:00 PM in Elizabeth Cemetery in Saltville, VA. The family would like to thank Pepperhill Nursing Home and Infinity Hospice for all their loving care. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
