Ridge Spring- Reverend Dr. Kenneth John Carvalho, 69, died June 11, 2010 at Carolinas Hospital, Florence, SC. He was born in New Bedford, MA to the late Manuel and Mary Costa Carvalho. He was an Army veteran. He was a full time pastor who had preached in SC, NC, GA, VA, KY, FL, OH, and TN over the past thirty-five years. He was currently pastor of Sandy Cross Baptist Church, Crawfordville, GA. He was saved, called to the ministry and ordained at Town Creek Baptist Church, Aiken, SC. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his loving wife, Susan Redd Carvalho and beloved children, Jennifer (Matt) Carson, Florence, SC and Kevin Carvalho, Augusta, GA. Other survivors include grandchildren, Austin Greene, Caleb Carson; son in-law, Dan Geeene, Dayton, OH. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Traci Greene. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, June 14 at Town Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Brancie Stephens, Rev. Steve Ross and Rev. Jeff Strong officiating. Interment will follow at Town Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers will be Matt Carson, Robert Siders, David Vickery, Sid Holland, Ken Klun, Dan Greene, Jim Greene, and David Jordon. Honorary pallbearers will be Men of Sandy Cross Baptist Church and Ordained Ministers. Memorials may be directed to American Diabetes Assoc., 2711 Middleburg Dr., Columbia, SC 29204 or Aiken Heart Assoc., 1003 Hammond Rd., Aiken, SC 29803.
