Corine Hankinson Payton

AIKEN, SC -- CORINE HANKINSON PAYTON, 92, widow of Willis T. Payton, died Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A native and lifelong resident of Aiken, Mrs. Payton was a daughter of the late Charles Heyward and Gladys Sizemore Hankinson. She was a homemaker and member of Aiken's First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Truth Seekers Sunday School Class and the Round Table Circle at First Baptist. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley P. and Gerald Shuford, Aiken, a grandson, CDR Kent B. (Victoria) Shuford, USNavy and three great-grandchildren; Jacob William Shuford, Holly Elizabeth Shuford and Sara Jane Shuford. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 PM at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 2:00 PM in Aiken Memorial Gardens, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home with The Rev. Dr. Fred W.
