AIKEN, SC -- PATRICK SCOTT CUNNINGHAM, 53, beloved husband of Susie Lowers Cunningham, died suddenly, Sunday, July 25, 2010 at his residence.
Scott was born in South Charleston, WV. He was a son of Frank L. and Mary Zee Raynes Cunningham, Jr., and grew up in Nitro, WV and Parkersburg, WV and graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1975. He received his degree in nursing from West Virginia University - Parkersburg, WV. He had lived in Aiken since 1991 and was a registered nurse. He worked in the Trauma Unit at MCG Health in Augusta, the Aiken Regional Medical Centers Emergency Department and at Trinity Health Services. He was a member and deacon of South Aiken Presbyterian Church. He was a former Scout Master with Boy Scout Troop 146, and currently served as their charter representative. Scott also volunteered with the Secret Santa program at South Aiken Presbyterian Church. He was also a volunteer for the Guardian ad Litem program for Aiken County.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Susie, include a son, Aaron Scott Cunningham, Aiken, his parents, Frank L. and Mary Zee Cunningham, Jr., Melbourne, FL, a sister, Linda Zee Haddox, Melbourne, FL, two brothers, Frank L. (Mary) Cunningham III, Aiken and Kelly D. Cunningham, Ocala, FL, nine nieces and nephews, Frank L. Cunningham IV, Matthew R. Cunningham, Sarah Cunningham, Eric Haddox, Lisa Stephens, Larry Stephens, Malynn Lowers, Blake Hendricks, Patsy Karr and Greg Joachim and two sisters-in-law, Edna Lemon, Parkersburg, WV and Diana Joachim, Williamstown, WV.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at South Aiken Presbyterian Church with The Rev. Christopher Crotwell officiating. The family will receive friends in the Family Life Center following the service.
Memorial contributions may be directed either to Boy Scout Troop 146 or to the Secret Santa Program, at South Aiken Presbyterian Church, 1711 Whiskey Rd., Aiken, SC 29803.
