AIKEN, SC -- PAULINE MASCIA MARTIN, 89, widow of Arthur Martin, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
A native of Altoona, PA, Mrs. Martin was a daughter of the late Samuel Anthony Mascia and Irene Smith Mascia Helsel. She had moved to Aiken 57 years ago from Pennsylvania and retired from the Atomic Energy Commission at the Savannah River Plant. Mrs. Martin had recently been a resident of Hitchcock House Assisted Living.
Survivors include two daughters; Yvonne M. (Charles) Shirley of Albuquerque, NM and Tonia M. (Tom) McCullough of Aiken, two grandchildren; Jonathan M. Shirley, Albany, NY and Christopher D. Shirley, Chicago, IL and two brothers; Karl Mascia(Karen), Levittown, PA and John Mascia(Jane), Altoona, PA.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and staff of the E.D. Department and ICU at Aiken Regional Medical Centers and the staff at Hitchcock House for their wonderful care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Gloverville, SC, Saturday, August 7 at 11:00 AM with Father Peter Clarke officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Our Lady of the Valley Center.
