AIKEN, SC -- Reynold George (Renny) Linder, 73, of Aiken, SC, Entered into rest on August 6, 2010.
Reynold was born Christmas day, 1936 in Tulare, CA. He was a son of Frances Linder of Tulare, CA and the late David C. Linder. He attended Tulare Union High School in Tulare, CA and KISKI Prep School in Pennsylvania. Reynold grew up in Tulare CA, where he worked in the family Agricultural equipment business that his family started in 1884. He continued his education at University of Santiago in Cuba, and was very fluent in Spanish. Reynold also served in the United States Marine Corps.
In the 70’s he lived in Mexico for a few years and then moved back to Visalia CA and was involved in the antique business for many years. He then moved to Camp Nelson CA where he enjoyed the outdoors. He loved hiking the family property with his two dogs Dinga and Bache. Camp Nelson always remained home to him. Reynold lived the life of a free and independent spirit.
Reynold was baptized in Visalia, CA in the Church of Christ. He loved history and he loved to read the encyclopedia. He also loved tanning poolside.
He moved to the South East to be close to his daughters. He moved to Kodak, TN to be with his daughter Danielle, and then to Saluda SC to be with his youngest daughter Shannon. He then resided at The Croft House in beautiful Aiken, SC.
Survivors include his mother, son Raymond Linder and wife Carrie, and grandson Noah of Silverton, OR, daughter Cindi Linder and grand daughter Sophie and grandson Zac of Washington State, daughter Danielle Martinez and husband Jose and son Derek of Kodak, TN, daughter Shannon Muhaw and husband Mark of Saluda, SC, and step son (whom he thought of as his own son) Darren Thompson and wife Jacinta and their children Alisha and Darren (Little D.) of Lake Havasu, AZ, sister Diane Linder of Austin, TX, brother David Linder Jr.(Butch) of Tulare, CA, brother Robert Linder of Tulare, Ca and sister Francine Linder also of Tulare, Ca. Preceding him in death were his father, David C. Linder and a step son Derek Thompson.(whom he thought of as his own son)
Reynold's family would like to thank everyone at the Croft House in Aiken for looking out for him. (Even when he didn’t want them to.) And a very special thank you to the ICU at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
And the biggest thank you to his former wife Barbara Ring who remained his friend for over 40 years and was there to comfort him in the end. THANK YOU Mom.
