Joseph Paul Bruce, Jr.

AIKEN - Mr. Joseph Paul Bruce, Jr., 74, died Saturday, August 14, 2010. A funeral service will be held at 9:00 AM Wednesday at Southwind Fellowship Church with the Reverend Darrell Morgan officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Mr. Bruce was born in Hoboken, NJ, a son of the late Joseph P. Bruce, Sr. and Matilda Johnquist Maine Bruce. He moved to Aiken in 1978, and was a manufacturing manager at SmithKline Beecham. He also served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Bruce is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Mielke Bruce; four daughters, Karen Bruce (Kent) Crawford, Murfreesboro, TN, Kathleen Bruce (David) Gillespie, Chester, VA, Mary Bruce (Jeff) Nobles, Woodstock, GA, Suzanne Bruce Davila, Aiken; ten grandchildren, Richard Kent Crawford, II, Kirstin Elisabeth Crawford, Michael David Gillespie, Steven Bruce Gillespie, Sarah Lacy Nobles, Alexander Jeffrey Nobles, Adriana Isabelle Nobles, Brandi Marie Brown, Lucas Gabriel Davila, Ethan Joseph Davila; one great grandchild, Ivy Sophia Crawford; a brother, Douglas (Marilyn) Bruce, Middletown, NJ; nieces, Michelle Bruce, Rene Bruce Forsythe; nephew, Eric Bruce.
