AIKEN - Mrs. Marion Louise Neagle Smoland, 85, died Wednesday, August 18, 2010. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 28 at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Dr. David Cozad officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service Mrs. Smoland was born in Plainfield, NJ, a daughter of the late Charles Fisher and Olena Margaret Mortenson Neagle. She moved to Aiken in 1955, and was a member of the Toast Masters. She was also a member of First Presbyterian Church, Aiken. Mrs. Smoland is survived by a son Paul Norman Smoland and partner Victoria Pich, Yamhill, OR; a daughter in law, DeAna Spangler; grandchildren, Geoff, Keith and Dain Smoland; great grandchildren, Davis and Evie Smoland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Thomas Smoland, and a son, Donald Bruce Smoland. The family has requested that memorials may be sent to First Presbyterian Church, 224 Barnwell Ave., Aiken, SC 29801.
