AIKEN - Mrs. Virginia Marquis Nadeau, 87, died Saturday, August 21, 2010. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church with the Revered Father James L. LeBlanc celebrant. Final rites and commendations will follow in St. Bruno Catholic Church Cemetery, Van Buren, ME, on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 2:30 PM. Mrs. Nadeau was born in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Canada, a daughter of the late Alcide and Anna Violette Marquis. She moved to Aiken in 1986, was one of the first members of Woodside Country Club, a member of the Green Boundary, helped start the Woodside Women's Golf program, and was a member of the Steeplechase Association. She was also a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Mrs. Nadeau is survived by her sister, Pauline Parker, Temple City, CA; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Nadeau; eleven siblings, Wilfred Marquis, George Marquis, Delores Powell, Anita Urbati, Imelda Marquis, Ernest Marquis, Albina Marquis, Alfred Marquis, Alice Marquis, and Arsene Marquis.
