Paul Watkins

Jackson, SC - Mr. Paul Watkins, 84, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2010 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM Saturday, September 4, 2010 in the Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Tresco Shannon officiating, followed by military honors. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Mr. Watkins was born in Elmira, NY, a son of the late Margaret Watkins. He served in the US Army during WWII, and was a member of the American Legion Post #442 for over 60 years. He had been a resident of Aiken County for the last 8 years, and was an avid sportsman. Mr. Watkins is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Seymour Watkins; three daughters, Patricia (Vincent) Maglio, Aiken, Paula Jo (Steven) Peterson, Elmira Heights, NY, Dawn Johnston, Jackson; two sons, Dale (Gloria) Watkins, Cabot, VT, Duane Watkins, Warrenville, SC; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Sheldon Quimby, Port Ewen, NY, Roger Quimby, CA; and special family friend, Mitzy Axon. The family has requested that memorials be made to the Savannah River Cancer Foundation, P.O.
