William "Bill" Jasper Owen, Jr.

JACKSON, SC -- WILLIAM JASPER "BILL" OWEN, JR., 81, of Jackson, SC, beloved husband of Betty Jo Owen, passed away Friday, September 3, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Owen was born in Brevard, NC on June 28, 1929 and was a son of the late William Jasper and Maude Patterson Owen, Sr. He retired from DuPont at the Savannah River Plant after 39 years service. Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years, Betty Jo Owen, three children; William Jasper "Billy" (Debra) Owen III, Jackson, SC, Karen Owen (Gerry) Glenn, Jackson, SC, and Scott Paul (Mary) Owen, Cleveland, OH, five grandchildren; Will Owen, Robbie Glenn, Emma Owen, Alex Owen and Mattie Owen, three sisters; Frances Patterson, Brevard, NC, Alice Couvillon, New Ellenton, SC and Juda Kilpatrick, Atlanta, GA and a brother, Harold Owen, New Ellenton, SC. He was preceded in death by his brother Ralph Patterson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.
