Gloverville - Mrs. Clara Elizabeth Barber Silas, 64, died Monday, September 6, 2010.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at the Full Gospel Redemption Center with the Reverend Chris Williams officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery, New Ellenton.
Mrs. Silas was born in Alma, GA, a daughter of the late Mason and Kathleen McCrea Barber. She was a resident of Aiken County for 40 years, and retired from the Automatic Switch Company. She was also a homemaker and a wonderful mother to her children.
Mrs. Silas is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Lynn Silas; daughter, Donna K. (Scotty Beasley) Ray, Graniteville; two sons, Jeffery (Bonnie) Knowles, Graniteville, Donald Knowles, Aiken; five grandchildren, Alexander Knowles, Ricky (Sarah) Wiggins, Brie Knowles, Ethan Knowles, Jacob Knowles; three great grandchildren, Noah, Savannah and Katelyn Wiggins; five sisters, Skeet Lassiter, Waycross, GA, Sandra (Tommy) Medders, Alma, Mary (James) Turner, Alma, Molly (Tony) Lewis, Alma, Iris (Donnie) Harris, Blackshear, GA; a brother, Jerry (Nancy) Barber, Alma, several nieces and nephews; step brother, David McCarty, Alma; and a special family friend, John Kyle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Laverne Haselden.
