Joe Carter

AIKEN, SC – Mr. Joe Carter, 89, died, October 8, 2010 at Pepper Hill Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, Oct. 11, at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Huntsville, AL with The Reverend Richard Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM at Kelso Cemetery, Kelso, TN. Mr. Carter was born in Madison Co. AL, and was preceded in death by his wife Ethel Kerbo Carter. He was the son of the late Logan and Laura Taylor Carter, and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kay Carter Williams. He was a life long resident of Huntsville, where he retired as a Body Shop Foreman before moving to Aiken six years ago. He was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he served as Treasurer for over twenty years. Survivors include a son, Joe T. (Becky) Carter, Aiken, four grandchildren, John Williams, Nashville, TN, Bonner Carter Saylor, Lexington, SC, Jim Williams, NY, NY, Taylor Carter, Evans, GA, and a brother, Marvin Carter, Zephyrhills, FL.
