CLARKS HILL, SC -- PAUL CLARK YOUNG, 72, beloved husband of Linda Valley Young, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at University Hospital, Augusta, GA. A native of Syracuse, NY, Paul was a son of the late Harry Perkins and Elizabeth Daly Mutschler Young. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a retired route carrier and clerk in the Martinez, GA Branch of the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of the Jack C. Fortune American Legion Post 205 in Augusta, GA, and the Forty and Eight. Survivors, in addition to his wife Linda, include three daughters; Cheryl McLeod, New Ellenton, SC, Janet (Marc) Deason, Aiken, SC and Theresa (Dave) Grammar, Clearwater, SC, three sons; Wes C. (Katie) Young, Montgomery Village, MD, Anthony Young, North Augusta, SC and John Brooks (Caprice) Robinson, Simpsonville, SC, thirteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a brother, Alvin Young, Brewerton, NY. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home with The Rev. Tula Henson officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by the United States Air Force Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Mack Blaich, Harry Young, Travis Deason, Charles McLeod, Arthur China, Kenny Mears and Joseph McLeod. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Friends may call at other times at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Marc Deason in Aiken. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street Alexandria, VA 22311 or the American Heart Association, 520 Gervais Street, Columbia , SC, 29201.
