Leland Marion Bodie

AIKEN, SC -- LELAND MARION BODIE, 74, beloved husband of Martha Elizabeth Parkman Bodie, died Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A native and lifelong resident of Aiken County, Mr. Bodie was a son of the late Fred and Mattie Lee Whittle Bodie. He was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass. Survivors, in addition to his wife Martha, include a daughter, Beverly (Andy) Morrell, Aiken, two sons; Gene Edward Bodie, Aiken and Jimmy Edward (Cathy) Bodie, Meridian, MS, a step-daughter, Beth (Wayne) Jordan, Myrtle Beach, SC, a sister, Marie (Lavon) Carver, Aiken, two brothers; F. W. (Lillie Mae) Bodie, Aiken and Heyward Bodie, Aiken, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two children; Elizabeth and Leland Marion Bodie, Jr., a sister, Helen French and a brother Carl Bodie. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home, with The Rev. Marion Britton officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens.
