Jean Rauch Grabb

AIKEN, SC -- JEAN RAUCH GRABB, 85, beloved wife of Albert I. Grabb, died Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at University Hospital, Augusta, GA. A native of Rock Hill, SC, Mrs. Grabb was a daughter of the late John Junior and Laura Bailey Rauch. She was a graduate of Women's College of NC at Greensboro. She had lived in Aiken since 1955, and was a former third grade school teacher at Eustis Park and East Aiken Elementary Schools. Jean was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She loved music and dancing and was a member of the Carolina Squares square dance club. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed traveling. Survivors in addition to her husband Albert, include a daughter, Peggy (Steve) Grant, Cincinnati, OH, two sons; Bill (Nancy) Grabb, Mooresville, NC and Henry (Karen Dannessa) Grabb, Downingtown, PA, two grandchildren; Cynthia (Mark) Patterson and Daniel Grabb, three step-grandchildren; Ben, Zach and Ed Grant, a great-granddaughter, Hanna Patterson and a sister, Elizabeth Stapleton, Huntersville, NC. She was preceded in death by her twin brother, William Rauch, brothers, Henry, Robert and John and a sister, Susan Barnwell. A memorial service will be held Friday at 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Law Sunday School Class and the Carolina Squares. Inurnment will be private in the church's columbarium. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
