Barbara Jean Cox Giles

AIKEN - Ms. Barbara Jean Cox Giles, 71, died Saturday, December 18, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Martha Vinson officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Chris DeHart, Larson Boatwright, Jack Matthews, Fred Cox, Frank Cox, Lamar Ward and Alonzo Cox. Ms. Giles was born in Starr, SC, a daughter of the late Carl C. and Lucy T. Brown Cox. She moved to Aiken from Anderson, SC over 30 years ago, and was a former member of Millbrook Baptist Church. She also was a member of a local Shag Club. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Giles Hartman, Aiken; a step daughter, Sherry Moats, Westminster, SC; step son, Philip Giles, Augusta, GA; grandchildren, Franklin "Cole" Fogle, Adam Moats and Carrie Moats Easley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Elizabeth Giles Fogle, and eleven brothers and sisters.
