Alan L. Skiest

Alan L. Skiest, born August 27, 1936 and raised in Worcester, Ma. A longtime resident of Shrewsbury, Ma, Seagrove Beach, FL, Cary, NC., and most recently lived with his son Erick Skiest and fiancé, Alison Fellows in Windsor, SC. Alan passed away peacefully on March 25, from a weakened immune system caused by CMML. Predeceased by: Dorothy Vuona Skiest former wife of 35 years and mother of their 5 sons, Barbara Keating Skiest wife of 22 years and Grand-Daughter Michelle Skiest. Alan leaves 5 sons; Kevin Skiest of Sarasota, FL, Mark Skiesto and wife Karen of Shrewsbury, Ma, Steven Skiest and wife Michele of Boylston, MA, Terrence “Taz” Skiest and wife Sherry of Crossville, TN, Erick Skiest and fiancé Alison Fellows, of Windsor, SC.  3 Stepchildren; Robert, Andrew, and Beth Keating of Granby, CT 2 Sisters; Norma Giumentaro of Shrewsbury, MA, and Donna Henry of Worcester, MA. Alan also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 14 nieces and nephews.

Throughout his career, Alan was a Computer Programmer at many high-tech companies. He also served in the Massachusetts’ Army National Guard and retired from the 212th Engineering Installation Squadron Air National Guard. Alan was best known for his always positive attitude even though being blind for many years, love of Texas Hold-Em, dogs, singing, fishing, and cars.

Alan’s military funeral will held Friday, May 3^rd at 9 AM sharp at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA. followed by his Celebration of Life 12-4 PM at the Italian American Victory Club (IAVC) 26 Dewey Rd, Shrewsbury, Ma.
