AIKEN, SC - Alberta Carter Johnson, 72, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025. She was known for her caring nature and loving spirit, embodying what it meant to be a devoted mother and sister.
Throughout her life, Alberta often expressed her gratitude, frequently responding to inquiries about her well-being with the heartfelt phrase, "doing good by the Grace of God!" This simple yet profound statement was a testament to her faith and positive outlook on life.
Alberta was a longtime resident of Aiken, having lived there since 1958. Her presence in the community was cherished by many, and her legacy of love will continue through her family. She leaves behind her sons, Lisco (Catherine Lindley) Johnson, Jr. and Tony Green, along with her beloved grandchildren, Tyson Williams and Rochel Tyler. Alberta also cherished her six great-grandchildren and remained close to her siblings: Doris Darrisaw, Burnette (Stinson Walker) Carter, Telitha (Cornelius) Harris, Yvonne (Jeremy Jones) Wiley, and James (Lela J.) Carter, Jr.
Alberta now rejoins her husband, Lisco Johnson, Sr., along with her parents, James and Eva Hurst Carter, Sr., and siblings, Annie L. Rhodes and Thomas L. Rhodes, in eternal rest.
Family and friends are invited to honor her memory during a memorial service to be held on April 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Shellhouse Funeral Home Inc., located at 924 Hayne Ave SW, Aiken, SC 29801. The family will receive friends following the service.
