AIKEN, SC – ALENE REDD DICKS, 91, widow of Ben Dicks, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022, in University Hospital, Augusta, GA.
A native and lifelong resident of Aiken County, Alene was the daughter of the late Wade and Maggie DuBose Redd. A savvy businesswoman, she owned and operated Northside Mobile Home Estates. Alene was a member of First Baptist Church of Windsor. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include four children, Faye Anderson (Mike), Annette Bell (Glenn), Bennie Dicks (Cindy), Tommy Wade Dicks (Theresa McPherson), Aiken; twelve grandchildren, John Anderson, Jr., Charles “Clint” Anderson, Cindy Eubanks, Ben Bell, Amy Hankinson, Benny Dicks II, Kasey Cushman, Cathy Creson, Tommy Wade Dicks, Jr., Chris Dicks, Tommy Wade Dicks III, Benjamin Winston Dicks; sixteen great-grandchildren, Alyssa Anderson, Maci Johnson, Kelby Moseley, Matthew Anderson, Cohen Anderson, Ross Stone, Jason Bell, Chad Hankinson, Hunter Anderson, Jada Johnson, Emmett Dicks, Caitlyn Creson, Toni Wynn Creson, Chandler Creson, Davis Dicks, Charlie Dicks; a great-great-grandson, Dexter Moseley.
In addition to her husband and parents, Alene was preceded in death by her five brothers, James, Oliver, Irvin, Johnnie and Pickens Redd.
A private funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon, January 30th at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home with The Rev. Wesley Kinard officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
