Ann Marie McGhee

AIKEN, SC – Ann Marie McGhee, 48, beloved wife of Michael Todd McGhee, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

A native of Aiken SC, Ann Marie was a daughter of Gary McDaniel Johnson (deceased) and Marsha Marie Verbik Johnson  

Wife, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, friend, and teacher. Ann Marie McGhee was a rock for many of those who knew her. Her smile was beautiful, and her laugh was contagious. Her friendship was relentless, her kindness was unstoppable, and her love for others was ongoing no matter what.

Ann Marie loved to travel with her husband, Michael Todd. Her favorite thing to do was to stick her toes in the deep blue sea while lying on a sandy beach. Her other favorite thing to do was hangout with her friends, old and new. She was the person that others would gravitate to, and she would always make you feel important.

After graduating in May of 2007 for the University of South Carolina Aiken, Ann Marie started her career as a teacher. She loved her students and would often share stories of accomplishments as well as the funny things they would do or come up with. She looked forward to filling their minds with knowledge to help them grow better as a person. Her hope was to have influence in their lives, and she did that repeatedly.

In addition to her husband Michael Todd, survivors include her sister; Cristina Lynn Johnson Struble, spouse; Eric Struble, niece; Isabel Lynn Struble, of Midlothian, Virginia, brother; Clinton McDaniel Johnson, spouse; Amy Marie-Diane Johnson, nephew; Malachi McDaniel Johnson of Belton, South Carolina.

Please join us for the celebration of Ann Marie’s life on December 3^rd at The Big Red Barn in Aiken, SC starting at 3pm. We will play her favorite games and reminisce about the fond memories that we made with Ann Marie and how she touched our lives.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you visit www.hsacs.net Horse Creek Academy Charter School where Ann Marie taught and donate to the Ann Marie McGhee Makers Space. This will be a new learning space dedicated to her for the students.
