Anne Marie Grier Valenzano

AIKEN, SC - Mrs. Anne Marie Grier Valenzano, 86, widow of the late Vito J. "Bill" Valenzano, Jr., passed away Monday, November 16, 2020. Born in Carbondale, PA Mrs. Valenzano was a daughter to the late William and Mary Larkin Grier. Before moving to Aiken, she resided in Fairfield, NJ. Mrs. Valenzano graduated from the College of St. Elizabeth and then earned a Master's Degree in Psychiatric Nursing from Boston College. She was an associate professor at Seton Hall University and Rutgers University. She is survived by her three sisters, Mary Bergen, Louise Long and Elizabeth Hoag, two brothers-in-law, Eugene Smith and Peter Valenzano, and numerous nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and nieces. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Valenzano was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Corio and Patricia Smith, and two nieces, Cheryl Ann Alsip and Rosie Long. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fairfield St., with The Very Reverend Gregory Wilson officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in New Jersey. The family would like to thank Amy, Renee, Pam R., Pam S. and Sue from Regency Hospice and the staff from Visiting Angels for their compassionate care of Mrs. Valenzano.
