Archie W. Sprague, 98 of Aiken, SC passed away on August 22, 2024 at Oaks at Aiken. Born in Hornell, NY on June 11, 1926 the son of Archie and Hannah Housel Sprague. He was married in Haskinville, NY on November 30, 1946 to Dorothy Myers Sprague.

While in Bath he and his loving family built and operated the Campers Haven Campground. He was a member of the Masonic Steuben Lodge No. 112 since 1962. He retired in 1986 as Supervisor of the Manufacturing information and data base group for the Westinghouse I & G electronic tube division.

Archie will be remembered as a composer and musician playing string bass with bands in the Hornell area. He played piano and sang with his own band for many years. He loved to ride motorcycles, was a certified scuba diver and flew single engine aircraft. He was an accomplished Wee bowler, frequently bowling perfect games.

He enjoyed retirement with his wife in Florida and South Carolina.

In addition to his mother and father he was predeceased by his wife of 73 years Dorothy Sprague; his son Archie Larry Sprague; his sisters Ruth Clymo and Nellie Rider and a brother Harold Sprague.

He is survived by his son Ronald Sprague of Aiken, SC; daughters Judy Sprague of Ithaca, NY and Donna Bobier and son in law William Bobier (William) of Windsor, NY; daughter in law Patricia Sprague of Gloucester, VA. He had 7 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.

There will be no prior calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
