Barbara Anne Bruce Valentine

AIKEN, SC - Mrs. Barbara Anne Bruce Valentine, 81, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021. A graveside funeral will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, February 24, 2021 in Southlawn Cemetery with Pastor Gary Hanna officiating. Born August 10, 1939, in East St. Louis, IL, Mrs. Valentine was a daughter of the late William and Elisabeth Daniels Mielke. During her life she loved sewing and gardening and had a deep love for learning and reading. Her sense of humor was memorable and she always enjoyed a good practical joke. Mrs. Valentine loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and most of all she loved the Lord. She was a friend to many and will be dearly missed. She is survived by four daughters, Karen (Kent) Crawford, Murfreesboro, TN, Kathleen (David) Gillespie, Chester, VA, Mary (Jeff) Nobles, Atlanta, GA, Suzanne (Tony) Negron, Warrenville, SC; ten grandchildren, Richard Kent Crawford II, Kirstin Elisabeth Harper, Michael David Gillespie, Steven Bruce Gillespie, Sarah Lacy Norman, Alexander Jeffrey Nobles, Adriana Isabelle Chizmadia, Brandi Marie Brown, Lucas Gabriel Davila, Ethan Joseph Davila; seven great-grandchildren, Ivy Sophia Crawford, Rylynn Hope Norman, Crawford Steven Harper, Ruby Mary Ann Nobles, Maxwell Joseph Norman, Joey Louise Brown, Violet James Skillman; one sister, Erna Collins, Lake Wales, FL; two brothers, Robert Mielke, Uxbridge, MA and Edward Mielke of O’Fallon, IL. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Valentine was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Paul Bruce, Jr. and her second husband, Steven C. Valentine.
