AIKEN, SC - Barbara Ann Brill Clary, 83, wife of George A. Clary, went to her heavenly home on February 5, 2022, with family by her side.
A native of Austin, Texas, she was a resident of Aiken for 22 years. She was the daughter of the late Bill and Mary Jo Scott Brill. She graduated from A.N. McCallum High School and attended Nixon Clay Business School in Austin. She held various secretarial positions at several churches and also for a professor at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth. Later, she worked for American Greetings. Additionally, she was a homemaker, actively served in her church and was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her stepmother Clovis Martin Brill; as well as her loving grandparents: Noel Scott, Mary Mallet Scott, Arno Brill and Katie Inks Brill who helped raise her.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, George A. Clary; daughter, Karen (David) Harper, Aiken, SC; daughter, Sandi (Louis) Mitchell, Harvest, AL; sister, Patsy (Tom) Curley, Dugspur, VA; brother, Arno Brill, Houston, TX; grandchildren, Jared (Dana) Austin; Jason (Jodie) Austin, Jonathan (Melissa) Harper, Shaun (Lauren) Austin; Ryan (Amanda) Harper; Karisa Austin, Briana (Tim) McIntire; Andrew (Joy) Harper; Jimmy Mitchell, and Cole Mitchell, 15 great grandchildren, a niece and two nephews.
She will be remembered for her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ and her love for family and friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening February 12th from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at Millbrook Baptist Church on Sunday afternoon, February 13th at 2 o’clock. The Revs. David Harper and Bill Howard III will officiate. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.
