Becky Doughty

January 8, 1962 — May 26, 2018

AIKEN, SC - Maria Rebecca "Becky" Doughty, 56, left this world to be with her mother, father, brother, beloved horse CID and the Lord on May 26, 2018. She had spent the last six months valiantly struggling to recover from a freak auto accident on December 1, 2017, but God chose her to be his angel instead.

She leaves behind her beloved son, Jon Eli Ortiz, Aiken; sister Lydia Delrossi, Aiken, SC; nephew Nicholas (Roberta) Delrossi, Charlotte, NC; niece Alexandra (Ryan Belger) Delrossi, Aiken; and their children Bella Delrossi, Benjamin Belger, Colin Belger and extended family in Atlanta, California, Connecticut and New York.

Originally from Muttontown, LI, NY, Becky was born on January 8, 1962 with a love for animals and a quick wit. She was a joyful, giving person who never met a stranger and was someone who would truly do whatever she could to help others. Her youth was spent in St. Augustine, Florida, where her family relocated in 1969 and attended both Howey Academy at Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida and St. Augustine High School. After graduation, she followed a career in real estate and property management in Jacksonville and St. Augustine, moving to Aiken in 2000 with her mother and son, to be closer to her family. Once here, she embraced all things Aiken and could be found at Aiken Polo Club, riding with WRFH, at Steeplechase, riding in Hitchcock Woods with her son and bringing frivolity to her ever-expanding family and friends. She was involved in the Lions Club, Helping Hands and Alzheimer's Memory Ride, all while being primary caretaker of her aging mother. She had a million-watt smile and made lifelong friends who adore her. In business, she took her "can-do" work ethic and became a valued business account manager at both Atlantic Broadband and Comcast. She will be deeply missed by both her loved ones as well as her four legged family Sammy, Layla, Cowboy, Zeele and Geronimo.
