Bernice Zook Sipe was called home by her Savior Sunday, March 7, 2021, in the comfort of her home. Bernice was born January 31, 1932 in Smithville, Ohio to the late John & Katie Zook. After her marriage to William (Bill) E. Sipe, they moved to Aiken and were both employed by DuPont at the Savannah River Plant. Bernice was a dedicated member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Houndslake Women’s Golf Association where she held various elected positions and enjoyed playing golf with her friends. She played bridge all her adult life and made many longtime friends through the “Bridge A Rama” games. Until recently, she helped deliver Meals on Wheels with her dear friend, Linda Payne. Through the years, she traveled all over the United States, Canada, Europe, Scotland & Ireland with her travel buddy, Ann James. Bernice will be remembered mostly for her fierce love for her Savior and her family, her kind heart and sense of humor. Her most important legacy is leading her family to Christ by her example. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, sisters Alice Keen & Mae Fletcher; as well as a grandson, Patrick Trotter. She will be remembered by her son, Chris (Elizabeth) Sipe of Simpsonville, SC: daughter, Julie (Phillip) Hagan of Aiken; her grandchildren, Harrison and Meredith Sipe, Marshall, Barrett and Katie Hagan. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 12, 2021, at the Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with the Reverend Phillip Lee officiating. Memorials may be made to Area Churches Together Serving (https://actsofaiken.org/donate/) or New Covenant Presbyterian Church (https://ncpcaiken.churchcenter.com/giving).
