AIKEN, SC - Beverly Ann Knapp, 84, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. “Bev” was born August 31, 1933 in Northampton, Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her father Roy Struthers, her mother Elvira (Shelkey) Brookes and her husband Clarence Knapp. She was raised and educated in Brattleboro, Vermont. She graduated from Brattleboro High School in 1951 and was a recipient of the Silver B Society. She resided in Dummerston, Vermont for forty two years. She worked thirty three years for the town of Dummerston as a Town Lister, Assistant Town Clerk and Administrative Assistant to the Select Board. She retired in 2012. She was well known and highly thought of by many in Dummerston. She moved to Aiken, South Carolina in 2015. She was a member of Talatha Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends at the Odell Weeks Community Center and volunteered at the Salvation Army soup kitchen. Survivors include her brother, Tom (Penny) Brookes, of Montana. Her sisters, Maude (Arthur) Higley, Vermont, Elva Pogar, Vermont, Margie (Dick) Robertson, of Texas and Lilian Brookes, of Vermont. Other survivors include her daughters Sue (Ron) Schack, Florida, Joanne (Larry) Feutral, South Carolina and son Peter Diemand (Coleen) of Massachusetts. She also is survived by her six grandchildren, Kerry Quiterio, Matthew Karparis, Seth Clawson, Sean Clawson, Sarah Diemand, John Diemand and many nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her beloved cat “Trixie”. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 4th at Talatha Baptist Church, Aiken. Visitation will begin at 1:00 prior to the service at 2:00. Reverend Jordan Bird will officiate the service. Interment will be in Dummerston Center Cemetery, Dummerston, Vermont at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Talatha Baptist Church Building Fund, 361 Talatha Church Road, Aiken, South Carolina, 29803.
