AIKEN, SC – WILLIAM RILEY “BILL” BAINBRIDGE, 73, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at his residence after a long illness.
Born on April 6, 1945 to Helen Jenkins and Richard Warren Bainbridge in Jenkins County Georgia, Bill attended High School in Donalsonville, GA.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the Vietnam War.
He graduated from Georgia Southern College with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration.
Bill formerly worked for The Southern Company and various large construction companies working on the eastern seaboard.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Sandy; his son, William Maxwell Bainbridge, North Wilkesboro, NC; granddaughter, Tiffany Marie Bainbridge; brother, Phillip Lawrence Bainbridge (Katie), Milledgeville, GA
The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon, July 7th beginning at 1 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 2 o’clock with The Rev. Dr. Mark Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Harmony United Methodist Church Cemetery, Johnston, SC. Pallbearers will be Max Bainbridge, Robert A. Reeves, Roy Cook, Kevin Wingfied, Rodney Mitchum, Eddie Simmons and Dave Simpson.
