AIKEN- William "Bill" Weisert, Sr., 49, beloved husband of Gale Winkleman Weisert, passed way Saturday, April 14th at his residence. Born in Euclid, OH he was a son of George V. Weisert and the late Dorothy Smila Weisert. He retired from the US Army National Guard after 25 years of service. Bill was stationed with the 122nd Engineer Company Battalion of the Graniteville Armory. He was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Bill was an avid fan of Ohio State Football and the Pittsburg Steelers and he greatly enjoyed cooking and family celebrations. Bill is survived by his wife, father, daughter, Tara (Tyler) Blaschak; son, William J. Weisert Jr.; brothers, George (Ruby), Lou (Debbie) and Richard Weisert; sister, Karen Weisert Lee; 2 nieces, 6 nephews and his former wife of 25 years, Suzanne Weisert. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother-in-law, Mike Lee. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 18th at 4 o'clock PM at Langley United Methodist Church with Pastor Randall Haase officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 3 o'clock. Burial will follow the service in Calvary Cemetery with full military honors being rendered.
