AIKEN - BILLY WARREN HYDE, 88, beloved husband of Wynona McAfee Hyde, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
Born in Cullman, AL he was the son of the late George Howard and Nettie Williams Hyde. Billy will be remembered as being a man who loved his family, grandchildren, golf, football and camping. He was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church where he served as a deacon as well as serving on numerous committees over the years. Billy retired from Savannah River Site where he dedicated 41 years of service.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years; a son, Keith (Bobbi); a daughter, Cindy (Bill) Sims; six grandchildren, Ryan (Liza) Hyde, Ashley (Calvin) Tindall, Aaron (Kelly) Fincher, Adrienne (Chris) Rector, Lindsey Finlay, Brooke (Tyler) Smith; five great- grandchildren, Scott Hyde, Wesley Hyde, Andrew Hyde, Ellie Tindall and Matthew Rector and a sister, Judy (Edsel) Waldrep of Alabama.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Connie Kilpatrick.
The funeral service will be held Monday afternoon, December 20, 2021 at 1 o’clock at Millbrook Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Chris Masters, Rev. Dr. Stephen Cannon and Rev. Bill Howard officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Southlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Calvin Tindall, Ryan Hyde, Scott Hyde, Tyler Smith, Chris Rector and Aaron Fincher.
