Brian Karahalios

Brian Anthony Karahalios, 36, of Atlantic Beach, FL, passed away suddenly in Aiken, SC, on May 18, 2023.  He was born in Jacksonville, FL, on April 14, 1987, the son of Paul and Barbara Karahalios. 

He first attended Christ the King School, where he established so many of the close friendships he valued up until his death.

Brian had a huge passion for baseball, so many of his best memories were times spent on the field.  He played for Bishop Kenny High School, Pasco Hernando Community College, and Cumberland University, and had the thrill of winning both a state title and national championship along the way.  

After college graduation, he was accepted to the Medical School at the University of South Carolina.  He then moved on to do his residency at Houston Methodist Hospital in Texas.  While there, he became a Houston Astros fan, as his apartment was only blocks from the stadium.

In addition to his parents, Brian is survived by his grandmother, Betty Hyslop, of Aiken and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A visitation for Brian will be held Wednesday, May 31st from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the San Jose Country Club, 7529 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32217.  We hope you will come and share your favorite memories.

A funeral mass will be scheduled at a later date, to be held in Aiken, SC.
