NEW ELLENTON, SC - BRYAN MICHAEL MACKEY, 31, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021 at his residence.
Born in Cheverly, MD, Bryan was a son of Robert A. and Kathy Stone Mackey. He has lived in New Ellenton since 2004 and was a graduate of Silver Bluff High School Class of 2008. Bryan was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served in the 299 BSB Infantry Division and was deployed to Iraq in 2010-2011. He was involved in over 30 missions and was awarded the Combat Action Badge after his convoy was attacked. After his service in the Army, Bryan returned to New Ellenton and worked for Carpenters Union Local 283. Bryan loved to cook on his Recteq grill, he also loved watching auto racing and was an avid Florida Gator and Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan.
Survivors in addition to his parents, Robert and Kathy, include his brother, Kyle Robert Mackey (Tatum Boyd), New Ellenton; aunts and uncles, Steven Thomas (Aracelis), St. Pete Beach, FL, Beth Rautio, Aiken, Michael Stone (Julie), Clarksville, TN, Darlene Hampton, New Port Richey, FL.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, July 1st from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Friday morning, July 2nd at 11 o’clock at the funeral home followed by interment in Historic Bethany Cemetery. The Reverend Bill Howard III will officiate. Pallbearers will be Kyle Mackey, Eric Stone, Michael Stone, Steven Thomas, Steven Thomas II and Christopher Rautio.
