Byron Robert Andres

BYRON ROBERT ANDRES was born November 10, 1954 and died October 5, 2024. He is predeceased by his parents Clayton Sr., and Ester; and his brothers Paul and Clayton Jr. He leaves behind many loved ones including: his loving wife Christine Andres; his four children: Byron (Nicole), Tonya Flickinger (Terry), Jack (Nina), Donna (Hayden); his four brothers and two sisters: Jerry, Les, Rick (Jeff), Amy Loudenslager, Mel Jacoby (Blake), and Ed; his many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. 

Byron grew up in Orchard Park, New York and was a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan. He grew up with eight brothers and sisters, loving parents, grandparents, and aunts/uncles/cousins who lived next door or close by. It is well known through the family that he enjoyed visiting whichever aunt had pie or ice cream ready. The house he grew up in was always the place of family gatherings, which he bought in 2023 and was in the process of having it remodeled before he passed.

Eventually, he left New York for the sunshine state of Florida where he met the absolute love of his life Christine, who became his wife on June 14, 1997. Together they moved from Orlando, Fl to Portland, Oregon back to Coral Springs, Florida then finally to Aiken, SC in 2009 where they finished raising their kids, Jack and Donna. Every 4th of July he would travel with his family back to New York, where he would spend most of his vacation working on his mother’s house. He also enjoyed setting off the biggest fireworks he could find on the way there!

Byron enjoyed going to the beach and especially riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, which he bought brand new in 1995. The only time that anything came between him and bike week was the birth of his daughter, Donna, who came during the middle of it. 

After spending much time traveling the country working construction, he decided he wanted to specialize in Safety on the jobsite. He believed God wanted him to make sure that all construction workers got home safe every night to their families. He never judged anyone. He didn’t care who you were, whether you were the CEO of a company or lowest man on the totem pole he believed everyone had value and treated everyone equally. 

He believed in God, country, and family. His family was the most important thing to him, he was always so grateful for them. He may be gone, but he’ll never be forgotten. The family is truly blessed to have him watching over them. 

The family will receive friends Thursday morning, October 10th beginning at 10 o'clock at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home.

The Memorial Service will follow at 11 o'clock in the funeral home's chapel.
