Carl Anthony Commons, 76, of Aiken, South Carolina, passed away on October 18, 2024. He was born on April 25, 1948, in Dallas, Texas, to Jack and Imogene Commons. Carl grew up with his two sisters, Carol Kintigh and Caron Mindel, with whom he shared a close bond throughout his life.

A proud graduate of West Point, Carl served his country with honor for four years in the U.S. Army before transitioning into a successful career with Electronic Data Systems (EDS). His work with EDS took him and his family to many corners of the world, including Iran, Kuwait, England, and Ohio. Despite the frequent moves, Carl and his beloved wife, Vicki, always built a strong sense of home, eventually settling in Aiken, South Carolina.

Carl is survived by his devoted wife, Vicki Commons, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and adventure. He was the proud father of three sons: Carl Commons Jr., Michael Commons, and the late Donald Commons, who passed away before him. He also leaves behind two cherished grandchildren, Blake Garcia and Carl Commons III, and two great-grandchildren, Atlas Garcia and Sienna Garcia. His family brought him immense joy.

Throughout his life, Carl remained deeply committed to his family, his church, and community outreach. His faith and generosity touched the lives of many. He will be remembered for his love of the Lord, kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support of those around him.

A celebration of Carl’s life will be held at Aiken Ebenezer Nazarene at 6:30 PM on Thursday, October 24, where he was an active and beloved member.  The family will receive friends beginning at 6 PM.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to his church to support its ongoing mission: https://www.ebenezernazarene.com/give or send checks directly to Aiken Ebenezer Nazarene 1114 Richland Avenue West, Aiken, SC 29801.
