AIKEN, SC – CARL H. HENDRIX, 83, went to be with his Savior, Wednesday, November 29, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eunice; four daughters, whom he loved with all his heart, Debby Peek, Lynn Hendrix, Karla Roberts, Janet Ferguson; sons-in-law, Dale Roberts, Steve Ferguson; adopted son, Ron Angerman, all of Aiken; a granddaughter, Cara; three grandsons, Michael, Jeremy, Matthew; two great-granddaughters, Gracie, Baileigh; a great-grandson, Bradford; a great-great-granddaughter, Aiden; two sisters, Edna Tawney, Pauline Parham, both of Elberton, GA; two sisters-in-law, Hazel Byrd (Ross), Belmond, NC, Odell Sox, Gastonia, NC. A native of Madison County, GA, Carl was a son of the late James Boyd and Etta Mae Coyle Hendrix. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Carl was a member of Talatha Baptist Church, which he loved very much. He was on the Board of Deacons and served as an usher. Carl was an avid pilot and was an instructor for many years after he retired from International Paper Company in Augusta, GA. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, December 3rd beginning at 2 o’clock at Talatha Baptist Church followed by the funeral service at 3 o’clock. Interment will follow in the church Cemetery. The Revs. Jordan Bird, Kevin Carter and David Lester will officiate. Pallbearers will be Dale Roberts, Steve Ferguson, Ron Angerman, Gary Miller, Jimmy Arbaugh and Kenny Wall. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Friendship Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Talatha Baptist Church’s Building Fund.
