Carl "Tommy" Thomas Padgett

AIKEN – Mr. Carl Thomas “Tommy” Padgett, 67, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018. Mr. Padgett was a lifelong resident of Aiken, and retired as a carpenter from Bechtel at the Savannah River Site. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for many years. He is survived by his beloved wife of over 48 years, Cynthia Marks Padgett; two sons, Guy (Sharon) Padgett, Aiken, Chris (Jamie) Padgett, Aiken; two grandchildren, Amber and Rachel Padgett; two sisters, Sue (Bruce) Morris, Aiken, Barbara Ready, Lexington; two brothers, Tim Padgett, Augusta, Troy (Katrell) Padgett, Augusta; aunt and uncle, Joe and Eldora Cumbee, Clearwater; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Eileen Cumbee Padgett. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, January 15, 2018 at Lakeside Baptist Church with the Reverend Tad Marshall officiating. A private interment will be held in the Talatha Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Guy Padgett, Chris Padgett, John George, Larry Haney, Jim Stephens, and Rick Hollar.
