Carol Ann Staniszewski

AIKEN, SC – CAROL A. STANISZEWSKI, 72, beloved wife of John T. Staniszewski, Jr., died suddenly, Friday, March 9, 2018 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

A native of Chicago, IL, Carol was a daughter of the late Leonard G. and Bernice Mikos Babin. She lived in Paw Paw, MI from age 6 until moving to Aiken in 1989. Carol worked as a teacher’s assistant for 42 years, first in Paw Paw, MI and the last 27 years working with special needs students at Silver Bluff High School in Aiken County. She volunteered as a “ticket taker” at the Silver Bluff football games for the last 27 years until her retirement last year. Carol was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church.

Survivors, in addition to her husband John, include her daughter, Heather Staniszewski; her son, Kevin Staniszewski (Ellyn); three grandchildren, Duncan John Staniszewski, Rooker Sims Staniszewski, Charleston Adair Staniszewski, all of Aiken; two sisters, Kathy Sutton, Maumee, OH, Mary Arbanas, Paw Paw, MI and her dog, Bruster. In attrition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Babin and a brother, James Babin.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, March 14^th from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated Thursday morning, March 15^th at 11 o’clock at St. Mary Help of Christians on Park Avenue. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.
