AIKEN, SC – Mr. Charles Ernest Carland, 71, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, October 6, 2021.
He was a son of the late Ernest and Dorothy Carland.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sarah Ann Day Carland, Ridge Spring, SC; his daughter, Sherrie Carland, Ridge Spring; niece, Shae Carland (Thomas) Nichols; his very special cousins; Lynn Holloway, Mark Carland, Kathy Wilson and many others. He loved his four-legged companion Bella. He was preceded in death by his brother Ronnie E. Carland.
Charles worked for Winn-Dixie for 15 years and Bi-Lo for 15 years. He will be truly missed by so many. Charles brought a lot of smiles and love to everyone that knew him. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing and watching NASCAR racing. Charles was very loving and was a dedicated husband and father.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Shellhouse Funeral Home on Hayne Ave. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service and from 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, October 12 at the funeral home.
