Charles Scott Marzen

Aiken – Mr. Charles Scott (“Chuck”) Marzen, 76, died on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.

A native of Lansing, MI, Chuck was the son of the late George Charles and Mildred Volker Marzen. He was a retired carpenter and a mechanic. After living in Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Arizona and Iowa over the course of his life, he and Diane settled in Aiken for the last several years.

Chuck is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Dyer Marzen; his daughter, Jacquelyn (Kirby) Barron; his step-daughter, Shannon Dyer; his step-sons, David (Sally) Dyer and Richard Dyer; his grandchildren, Evan (Savannah) Barron, Heather Marzen, Heath Barron, and Jennifer Marzen; his step-grandchildren, Mary (Joey) Romando, Michael Leiher, Morgan Leiher, Madelyn Dyer, and Emily Dyer; and great grandchildren, Lanae Romando, Kathleen Barron, and Alexander Reilly.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart, Niki Jo Peterson Marzen, son, Scott Paul Marzen; his grandson, Paul Brian Marzen; his brother, Terry D. Marzen; and his beloved dog, Rocky.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the emergency department doctors, nurses, and staff at Aiken Regional Medical Centers for their compassionate care and to the Fresenius Medical team and staff for their endless care and for always giving Chuck the window seat during his weekly treatments.
