Charles Calvin McGee

Aiken – Mr. Charles Calvin McGee, 80, passed away suddenly Friday, September 23, 2022.

Charles was a lifelong resident of Aiken, and son of the late Curtis Freeman and Gertrude Rodgers McGee.  He was a graduate of Leavelle McCampbell High School, served in the US Army National Guard for seven years and the US Air Force for 13 years.  Charles retired from the SC Highway Patrol in 1979, and went on to work for Avondale until his retirement in 2001.  He was a member of the SC Troopers Association, the VFW, belonged to the Graniteville Masonic Lodge, the Aiken Masonic Lodge, and the Langley Masonic Lodge.  He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Graniteville.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Carolyn Studemeyer McGee; daughter, Lisa McGee (Kevin) Creed, Aiken; grandsons, Charles Trails McGee, Kevin Sullivan Creed; great grandsons, Levi and Luka McGee, great granddaughter, Lillith McGee; sister, Sandra McGee Vance; and brother, Ralph Freeman McGee.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at SHELLHOUSE-RIVERS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 715 E. PINE LOG RD., AIKEN, SC
